Gallery: Black and White

The monochrome collection presents Tasmania's landscapes in striking black and white, including both traditional conversions and unique infrared captures. By removing colour as a distraction, these images reveal the raw sculptural beauty of the landscape, emphasising the interplay of light, texture, and form that shapes these remarkable landscapes.

These infrared photographs, captured using specially converted cameras at 720nm and 850nm wavelengths, reveal scenes as never before seen. Native plants like pandani (Richea pandanifolia) reflect infrared light distinctively due to their chlorophyll content, creating ethereal white foliage that contrasts dramatically with dark skies and water, offering an otherworldly perspective of familiar scenes.

This collection celebrates Tasmania's natural beauty through an alternative lens, stripping away the familiar to reveal the fundamental elements of wilderness in a new and compelling way.
