Gallery: Freycinet Peninsula

Freycinet National Park, established in 1916 and one of Tasmania's oldest national parks, sits on Tasmania's east coast, approximately 2.5 hours from Hobart. The park encompasses the Freycinet Peninsula, where the distinctive pink granite peaks of The Hazards rise dramatically from the coastline, stretching from the sweeping Friendly Beaches in the north to Schouten Island in the south.

Wineglass Bay, with its crystal-clear waters and crescent of white sand, is the park's most photographed location. The peninsula offers stunning coastal viewpoints from Hazards Beach, Sleepy Bay and Honeymoon Bay, where golden granite boulders meet turquoise waters.

The peninsula's ancient geology dates back over 400 million years, with its weathered granite peaks and white quartz sand beaches forming one of Tasmania's most beautiful coastlines.
