Gallery: Huon Valley & D’Entrecasteaux Channel
The Huon Valley and D'Entrecasteaux Channel region, beginning just 30 minutes south of Hobart, encompasses some of Tasmania's most serene waterways and fertile landscapes. The area stretches from the historic township of Huonville along the tranquil Huon River, through to the sheltered waters of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel which separates Bruny Island from the mainland.
This region, once the heart of Tasmania's apple growing industry, is characterised by rolling hills of orchards, dense forests, and pristine waterways. The dramatic peaks of the Hartz Mountains National Park form a stunning backdrop to the valley, while coastal villages like Woodbridge, Kettering, and Cygnet offer perspectives across the channel's protected waters.
