Surrounded by the Southern Ocean and buffeted by the Roaring Forties winds, the island's atmosphere remains remarkably clear, creating perfect conditions for stargazing and night photography.

The pristine night skies over Tasmania reveal spectacular views of the Milky Way, star clusters, and distant galaxies. Much of the state, particularly areas away from urban centres, maintains natural darkness levels that are increasingly rare worldwide.

Together, we work to ensure future generations can experience the wonder of Tasmania's star-filled nights, while protecting nocturnal wildlife and our connection to the natural rhythms of day and night.
