Pandani at the Pool of Memories

A lone pandani (Richea pandanifolia), the world's tallest heath plant, stands sentinel by the Pool of Memories as Mt Geryon's dolerite spires catch the alpine sunrise. Endemic to Tasmania's highlands, these ancient plants are living remnants of Gondwana. The still waters perfectly mirror the towering peaks of the Du Cane Range, creating a natural reflection pool in this remote alpine basin.
